“I hope you aren’t asleep yet. I need to talk to you,” Joanna said, opening the door to Deena’s room.

But Deena wasn’t alone. She and Macy were on the bed, naked, Macy sitting astride Deena. Both of them looked up in shock.

“Oh, my, I’m sorry.” Joanna gasped and quickly closed the door. She could hear giggling.

“Come in, Josie. We’re decent.”

“No, no, I won’t bother you. You go ahead.” She knew that sounded stupid but she had never walked in on anyone having sex before.

“Open the door, Josie,” Deena said with a chuckle. “You might as well. You killed the mood.”

“I’m sorry, Deena. I should have knocked.”

“That would have killed it, anyway,” Macy said, giggling wildly. “Deena says you’re probably blushing. Open the door. I want to see.”

“Come on, Josie. Show your face.”

Joanna slowly opened the door, peeking inside shamefaced.

“I’m so, so sorry, Macy. I never just walk in without knocking.

I’m so embarrassed.”

They were sitting up leaning against the headboard with the blankets pulled up over their breasts.

“Don’t be. It was cute. It shows how good a friendship you have with Deena.”

“Come on in and sit on the bed. Tell us why you’re wearing green rubber boots at ten o’clock at night.”

The boots were comfortable enough Joanna hadn’t taken them off and she had no idea why. Was it because Chandler gave them to her? Whatever it was, she was wearing boots and a robe and feeling silly.

“Are those the ones Chandler gave you?” Macy asked then snuggled closer to Deena.

“Yes. I guess I’ll need them to even get to the vaporetto stop tomorrow.”

“Deena has no artistic flair. She picked out black ones.”
